Spotification
Welcome to Spotification!
This site connects to your personal Spotify account and provides two features that Spotify does not:
Group your playlists
Combine related playlists together to make a "group playlist". For example, you might create a group called "Dance" which contains these playlists: Latin Dance, HipHop Dance, and Electronic Dance. Spotification will create a new playlist for you containing all tracks from all playlists in the group.
Copy a playlist
The "Copy" feature allows you to make a privately owned copy of a playlist you're following. You'll then be able to edit the new playlist as you wish, without affecting the original.
Connect to Spotify
In order to use this site, you must agree to allow us limited access to your Spotify account. You will be taken to a Spotify page to log in and grant access.
How we will use your information
- Access your Spotify name and email address. We will NOT have access to your Spotify passoword, ever!
- Access the names of all your playlists
- Access the a list of all tracks in your playlists
- Create a playlist for you
- Delete a playlist for you (you will always have a chance to confirm before this happens).
Although Spotify itself may request your password when authorizing a connection to Spotification, this site will NOT have access to your password, ever!
We take your privacy very seriously. We will never sell your information or share it with anyone. We will only use your email address if we need to send you important information about the Spotification site or your account. We will not store your email address or any other personally identifying information.
We store the bare minimum data required for this site to sync your group playlists with individual playlists. This data consists of:
- Spotify's internal IDs for group playlists you have created here
- Spotify's internal IDs for individuial playlists that belong to your groups
- Spotify's internal ID for you as a user
